Karim Zein
Since enrolling at NKU in 2016, Karim has been named to the Dean's List for 3 consecutive years. His outstanding academic performance, as well as his leadership qualities earned him a position as the current President of the 'International Student Union'. He is also a student Government Senator, and a leadership Mentor on campus.
In early 2019, Karim mentioned that he had been experiencing depression, stress and anxiety. He decided to seek professional help because he did not want his mental state to negatively affect his performance in school.
Karim met with different therapists who provided different treatment options including medications prescribed for depression, stress and anxiety. However, over time, Karim expressed that his medicines were making him feel worse; so he decided to discontinue taking his medicines altogether.

On Monday, the 23rd of December, 2019, Karim Zein was on his way to make down payment for an apartment he was supposed to be sharing with his younger sister, Katia Zein, when he was involved in an automobile accident, an accident which is still under investigation. Sadly, one person died two days later from injuries related to the accident.
Karim woke up at the hospital bewildered and in complete disbelief of the crime(s) he was accused of committing. Even more shocking are the allegations that Karim was under the influence of various illicit drugs.
Following his release from the hospital, Karim was arrested and is currently still fighting for justice in jail.
Till today, no evidence has been shown/ provided to corroborate such misleading information about Karim.
Unfortunately, Karim did not qualify for legal aid. And we are concerned that without the right legal team, Karim may be facing his entire adult life in jail.
The lawyer that is currently representing Karim has requested payment in order for him to continue representing Karim in his fight for justice. This will not be possible without financial assistance, and lots of it.
Karim is now asking for help from anyone and everyone who is willing and able. All money donated will be put towards attorney fees to fight for what is best for Karim.
